Veterinary Use Only

Net Contents: 10 mL

FOR INTRAMUSCULAR USE IN HORSES ONLY

Active Ingredient: Each mL contains 200 mg boldenone undecylenate

Description

BOLD 200 injectable (boldenone undecylenate injection) is a long-acting injectable anabolic agent for horses, supplied in vials providing 200 mg boldenone undecylenate per mL in sesame oil with 2% (w/v) benzyl alcohol as a preservative.

Boldenone undecylenate is a steroid ester possessing marked anabolic properties and a small amount of androgenic activity.

Anabolic and androgenic agents have come to be widely used in the treatment of certain pathophysiological or catabolic processes in animals. In many instances, it is desirable to maintain a constant level of effect over a long period of time. Boldenone undecylenate is a long-acting injectable agent which has a rapid onset of action; this is advantageous and is preferred over frequent oral dosing or even repeated injections.

Actions

Anabolic agents are related to the sex hormones, but each varies in its anabolic and androgenic effect. Compounds such as methyltestosterone have anabolic activity, but with prolonged use, animals develop marked androgenic activity which makes these compounds unsuitable for prolonged therapy.

Studies conducted in laboratory animals to evaluate pharmacological activity characterized boldenone undecylenate as having distinct anabolic properties together with a certain degree of androgenic activity. It does not have marked antigonadotrophic properties, nor does it produce any clear-cut effects on the endometrium, conditions that are commonly observed when similar substances are used.

In clinical trials at the recommended dosage, BOLD 200 injectable had a marked anabolic effect in debilitated horses, appetite improved, weight gain was noted, vigor increased and improvement was noted in musculature and haircoat. This would be expected with an anabolic agent such as BOLD 200 injectable, particularly where there had been marked tissue breakdown associated with disease, prolonged anorexia or overwork.

Chemistry

Boldenone undecylenate is chemically known as 17ß-hydroxy-androsta-1,4-dien-

3-one-10-undecenoate.

BOLD 200 Injectable Indications

BOLD 200  injectable is recommended as an aid for treating debilitated horses when an improvement in weight, haircoat or general physical condition is desired. Debilitation often follows disease or may occur following overwork and over-exertion.

BOLD 200  injectable improves the general state of debilitated horses, thus aiding in correcting weight losses and improving appetite. It is not a substitute for a well-balanced diet. Optimal results can be expected only when good management and feeding practices are utilized.

BOLD 200  injectable should be considered only as adjunctive therapy to other specific and supportive therapy for diseases, surgical cases and traumatic injuries.

Warning

For horses only. This drug is not to be administered to horses that are to be slaughtered for use in food. Keep out of reach of children.

Contraindications

In the absence of data on the effect of boldenone undecylenate on immature colts and fillies, stallions, pregnant mares or brood mares during the breeding season, this drug should not be used in these animals

Adverse Reactions

Treatment with BOLD 200   injectable (boldenone undecylenate injection) may result in androgenic effects (masculinization, behavioural effects) being expressed in some animals. If these effects occur, they may persist for up to 6 to 8 weeks. No additional injections of boldenone undecylenate should be administered.

Overdosage

An overdose of BOLD 200    injectable (boldenone undecylenate injection) may result in prolonged androgenic effects that make the horse difficult to handle. Should this occur, discontinue treatment until all signs of androgenicity disappear.

BOLD 200     Injectable Dosage And Administration

The dosage for horses is 0.28 to 1.10 mg/kg (0.13-0.5 mg/lb) of body weight intramuscularly. Treatment may be repeated every 2 to 3 weeks. The condition should be assessed by a veterinarian to determine the duration of treatment; however, most horses will respond with one or two treatments.

Availability

BOLD 200 injectable (boldenone undecylenate injection) is available in multidose vials of 10 mL, providing 200 mg/mL boldenone undecylenate.

Storage

Store at room temperature, 15° - 30°C (59° - 86°F).

TREN 75 (10 ml/75 mg of trenbolone acetate)

TREN 75 Indications For Use

This product contains trenbolone acetate  in a slow-release delivery system which increases rate of weight gain and improves feed efficiency for up to 200 days in steers fed in confinement for slaughter.

Do not use in veal calves. Effectiveness and animal safety in veal calves have not been established.

Dosage

One implant containing 75 mg trenbolone acetate  is administered to each animal. The 10 ml which make up the dosage of TREN 75 are contained in one division of the multiple dose bottle. Ten doses are in each bottle. The bottle is designed to be used with a special implant gun.

Route Of Administration:

The implant is placed under the skin on the posterior aspect of the ear by means of a special implanter available.

With the animal suitably restrained, the skin on the outer surface of the ear should be cleaned. The implant is then administered by the method shown in the diagram below.

Site Of Implantation

After appropriately restraining the animal to allow access to the ear, cleanse the skin at the implant needle puncture site. It is subcutaneous between the skin and bottle on the back side of the ear and below the midline of the ear. The implant must not be placed closer to the head than the edge of the bottle ring farthest from the head. The location of insertion of the needle is a point toward the tip of the ear and at least a needle length away from the intended deposition site. Care should be taken to avoid injuring the major blood vessels or bottle of the ear.

METHOD OF USE

1. Do not remove the cap of the bottle containing the implants.

2. Place the bottle with the capped end to the front into slot at the top of the implanter magazine.

3. Gently push the bottle into the slot until it clicks into place.

4. The implanter is then ready for use.

5. Take the ear of the animal firmly with the free hand in the manner. Then insert the needle into the subcutaneous tissue at the point.

6. After inserting the needle to its full extent, squeeze the trigger gradually. Allow the pellets of the implant to be deposited in a single row.

7. Withdraw the implanter. This will advance the bottle one groove in the magazine and the next implant is now ready for use.

8. When all the implants have been administered, the bottle will discharge out the bottom of the magazine and may be replaced by a new one.

9. To change the needle, loosen the needle locking nut labeled and replace the needle. Tighten the nut finger tight and the implanter is ready for use.

Warning

Not to be used in animals intended for subsequent breeding, or in dairy animals. For Animal Treatment Only. Not for Use in Humans. Implant pellets in the ear only. Any other location is in violation of Federal Law. Do not attempt salvage of implanted site for human or animal food.

A withdrawal period has not been established for this product in pre-ruminating calves. Do not use in calves to be processed for veal.

Storage Conditions

Store unopened product at or below 25°C (77°F). Avoid excessive heat and humidity. Use product before the expiration date printed on the label and on the cartridge pouch. Opened cartridges may be stored in the foil pouch protected from light in the refrigerator (2-8°C/36-47°F) for up to 6 months.
